Application Overview
Next Generation Sequencing platforms are being used for a wide variety of applications with new ones being published on a nearly monthly basis. On the following pages you can find descriptions of the most common applications. While this field is very dynamic, the graph below shows a snapshot of the relative popularity of the various applications. The results are based on a composite of various public surveys in which respondents were asked what NGS applications they used. More than one response was allowed. These results do not necessarily represent the relative amount of sequencing throughput dedicated to the various applications.
